Experimental Modeling of CO2 Sorption/Desorption Cycle with MDEA/PZ Blend: Kinetics and Regeneration Temperature

CO2 sorption–desorption cycles with a methyldiethanolamine (MDEA)/piperazine (PZ) blend have been performed rotoevaporator. Similar to other separation technologies, the heating involved in MDEA/PZ solvent regeneration is most energy-intensive step overall process. Thus, this study investigated desorption kinetics under low-pressure (<200 mbar) and low-temperature conditions range from 308 363 K aim of reducing costs. The time unload samples ~2.35 mol/kg below threshold 1 was reduced 500 s at 333 90 K. Avrami–Erofoyev model found fit experimental kinetic data accurately. Arrhenius law calculations provided an activation energy process equal 76.39 kJ/mol. It demonstrated that combination pressure reduction increase temperature resulted enhancement kinetics, especially low temperatures. combined effect these two factors higher compared individual effects either factor alone. Solvent be valid option when coupled reduction.
